Can interference or resistance be a spiritual sign?

interference as a spiritual signIs it possible that the interference or resistance we experience in everyday life can be a spiritual sign or a message from Spirit intended to give us insight?

For those who follow my blog you may have noticed it has been over a month since my last post which announced the new release of my paranormal mystery, Back to Salem. My intention was to follow this spring with the launch of my new book, Lifesigns: Tapping the Power of Synchronicity, Serendipity and Miracles.

Lifesigns delves into how the Universe, or Spirit or God, (whatever your highest ideal) is fully present in our life and communicates through metaphysical signs and symbols.  One of these spiritual signs is interference which is also known as resistance.

Recently I failed to see signs of interference in my own life, suggesting it is not the right time to bring my new book to market. A family crisis, a blown down fence, landing in the hospital with an emergency appendectomy did not clue me in that it wasn’t a good time. When only hot water gushed from all six faucets in my newly remodeled bathroom, it didn’t hit me. But as I prepare for my son’s high school graduation, knowing he will be leaving for college this summer, I realized this may be the last time my family will be together for a while. All seemingly irrelevant events, though when I put it all together I had a meaningful message from the Universe … the book can wait … my family can’t.The book can wait … my family can’t.

What is interference?

Have you ever had the experience where everything seems to go wrong? No matter where you turn you find conflict, bills, disappointment, or your house is in disrepair. Perhaps you have misunderstandings, a cold develops, or you become ill. Even your dreams indicate life is off; perhaps you’re going down a hill or scrubbing toilets.

Many explain these occurrences as the Law of Attraction. However, there is another principle that suggests when we have made a wrong turn, or we are doing something that is not in harmony with our highest and best, the Universe responds by interfering, or provides resistance and I call this the Law of Interference. Interference is not to harm us, it is to alert us to the possibility we may be doing something that isn’t our best choice, and there’s time to reconsider.

When an event resembling interference emerges in life, stop. Try to determine if you have made a change in your life that may not be highest and best for you.  Or perhaps you haven’t made any changes, but consider the possibility that it’s time to make some. Is there an aspect of life that needs a swift kick start? Are you in a job that is spiritually bankrupting you? Are you in a relationship that has become stagnant? Are you avoiding conflict and know you need to confront the situation?

Interference is not a run of bad luck. Interference is one of those little blessings the Universe uses to give us messages. Interference is a Lifesign.

As for my book, Lifesigns, it is coming soon, but after I take some time to smell the roses, and enjoy my family and son’s graduation.

Namaste.

What a great message and such great insight, Alex! It's all how we choose to look at the circumstances and events of our lives and whether we believe that everything is not only for our highest good, but also gives us the opportunity to live to our highest potential. Sometimes our highest potential is simply BEING. Thanks for this wonderful reminder to stop and look at the messages and signposts. I'm glad you're going to take time to stop and smell the roses and enjoy family. I know your book with come out at the right time and I look forward to it.
